COMFORT AND SAFETY — Everyone’s Responsibility!

17.10.2024

The preparation of organizations in the city of Baranovichi and Baranovichi District for the 2024/2025 autumn-winter season has been completed, and the readiness certificates have been signed. Taking into account changing weather conditions, heating will be turned on in stages.

In today’s world, where comfort and safety are essential parts of everyday life, the proper operation of heating systems, ensuring the transfer of heat from the source to the end users — both residential and commercial buildings — under extreme weather conditions, is a critical issue.

Each of us wants to enjoy comfortable living conditions in our homes or apartments — to return home to a cozy space filled with positive emotions and true rest.

In private houses, the homeowner is responsible for indoor temperatures. However, in multi-apartment buildings, poor preparation for the heating season can negatively affect the quality of heat supply services.

We would like to remind you that the indoor temperature in residential premises must be no lower than 18°C (64.4°F). What might cause temperatures to fall below this standard?

Common causes of insufficient indoor temperature include:

  • Poor condition of window and door openings in stairwells and residential units
  • Clogged heating devices or unauthorized modifications to the heating system layout
  • Damaged thermal insulation on main pipelines
  • Malfunctioning automatic regulation systems

One of the tasks of the State Energy and Gas Supervision Authority is to ensure the safety of life and health when using thermal and electrical energy, as well as household gas usage. To that end, various safety and reliability measures are carried out to ensure proper operation and maintenance of energy systems and prevent accidents.

To prevent emergencies during the heating season, a number of preventive actions are taken during autumn-winter preparations.

Remember:
Accidents can be avoided by following safety regulations, being personally attentive, and exercising caution.
