Today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, Barhim employees participated in the premiere screening of the documentary film “The Diary of Dr. Levinbuk,” dedicated to the events and victims of the Baranovichi ghetto (June 28, 1941 – December 17, 1942). The film tells the story of Dr. Selman Levinbuk, a native of Baranovichi, who, along with his family, endured the horrific ordeals of the Holocaust. Miraculously, he, his wife, and his son managed to escape the camp and survive, as he later recounted to investigators during post-war interrogations. The newsreel also includes footage from the 1962 Military Tribunal in Baranovichi, where death sentences were handed down to former guards of the Koldychevo death camp, their accomplices, and those involved in those horrific events. It is especially important today that the lessons of the Holocaust be preserved in the memory of future generations and serve as a warning against acts of genocide in the future.
